We have an opportunity for a Senior Radiographer – MRI to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.
This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
Certificate of competence in administering intravenous injections (desirable).
MRI scanning experience essential
Duties of this role include:
To assist the Lead MRI radiographer in providing an efficient and safe MRI service for BMI London Independent’s patients, consultants and staff.
Produce images to department operational procedures and policies.
Practise good MRI safety and observe local rules and systems of work.
Help ensure that the designated working area is tidy, clean and efficiently run. Participate in and support the MRI centre’s business plan, goals and objectives
Develop good communications and relationships with colleagues at all levels within the hospital.
Support the Executive Director and the Imaging Manager.
Administer Intravenous cannulation and injection of substances (contrast administration).
Undertake other non-MRI duties as necessary.
Report all equipment malfunctions or faults to the manager and if necessary undertake any further action to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
Participate in and contribute to Quality Assurance tests within the Imaging Centre.
Participate in and contribute to the constant monitoring and reviewing of the MRI service standards.
Maintain a high standard of customer/patient care and ensure as a team member that this is maintained throughout the Imaging Centre and hospital.
Practise and observe all company, hospital and Imaging Centre policies and procedures. These include Health & Safety, Fire, COSHH and manual handling.
Report any hazards or incidents to the Lead MRI radiographer and participate in risk assessments.
Ensure cost effective use of consumables and the need for cost efficiency generally.
Ensure that his/her knowledge of technical and professional matters is up to date (C.P.D.).
Maintain a high professional conduct, and observe strict confidentiality at all times.
